🟢 New AI PM July cohort added (May sold out 😬) | AI PM Jobs (Europe Edition) | Learning Agentic I Prompting Reasoning Models | Moving away from "AI Enthusiast"
How to Prompt Reasoning/Agentic Models
Adapting your prompts to the type of model you're talking to is the next step in your AI literacy. Here's how to prompt an agent/AI-reasoning model: use a query with a GOAL vs explicit instructions. Agents can figure out the instructions for themselves.
The days of one-size-fits-all AI interaction are fading as Gen AI tools now offer a suite of specialized models for different purposes i.e. good for day to day tasks, multimodal understanding, reasoning etc. So how should you talk to each kind of model?
Yes, in the future AI will likely automate model selection based on the input, but until then.. consider the difference in prompting needed for a factual query versus asking for a complex step-by-step solution (a reasoning task).
Here's a guide on how to prompt reasoning vs non-AI reasoning models.
Hint: most agents will utilize an underlying reasoning model.
Moving Away from being just an “AI Enthusiast”
Move beyond just being an "AI Enthusiast" PM in a month and gain perspective with GenAI. Here's a 4 week self-practice curriculum.
The era of simply being an "AI enthusiast" is fading. 2025 demands a more grounded understanding of AI's implications and practical applications. You need an actual perspective. Here are some questions you may want to answer, that will help you get that perspective:
-How does (or does not) AI fit in your company's mission strategically?
-What can it and can it not do for you, your team and your company?
-What tools have you tried / adopted / rejected and why?
-What new automations and workflows transformed your impact on a personal and org level?
-How would you leverage AI on if you could spend 20% of your time to transform a product you've worked on?
Here's a little curriculum to get you started:
✨Week 1: Try the same prompts on Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, what differences do you notice? Which resonates best for you?
✨Week 2: Try creating a Gem (Gemini) and a CustomGPT (ChatGPT) to get a more formalized process to help you out on a process you perform day to day at work - how did that affect your day to day life?
✨Week 3: Explore 'Deep Research' and reasoning models on the tools above for a matter that is more complicated. The load up the results on NotebookLM and ask it to help you digest all this information in relation to your own goals. (Didn't that feel like having a superpower?)
✨Week 4: Explore Zapier and creating some automated workflow that prompts Claude every single day, and saves a new Google Doc for you - based on all the learnings above.
Opening up an express July AI PM Certification Cohort (20% off!)
Due to overwhelming demand for the May cohort (which is getting underway this week), I'm opening up a speed July cohort (4 weeks!). This wasn't in the plans but given the enthusiasm, I want to make sure everyone who wants to build AI products can.
As a refresher for the Bootcamp program: you'll get a foundational introduction to AI so we're all on the same page. Following that, we'll have leaders from Meta, OpenAI, and Google leading live workshops, going deeper on AI. After that, your Capstone gives you an opportunity to build alongside other PMs.
For the July cohort, your Capstone project will take place in Sept/Oct rather than immediately following the Advanced portion of the Bootcamp. The additional time between Advanced and the final Capstone is designed to give you more time to consolidate your learning and develop your AI product idea.
I want to respect the discount I extended to all the May bootcamp students so you can join the July bootcamp with JULYBOOTCAMP for 30% off.
